Nourishing and Comforting Essentials - Nuxe Reve de Miel
This post features products provided without charge by the brand / PR for my consideration
I've used Nuxe's Reve de Miel lip balm for ages now and it is a true staple. The pot lasts forever (a year +) and is always on my bedside table. Mentioned here and here! Did I know that there was a whole range of products offered by Nuxe in the Reve de Miel range? I didn't realize until a few weeks back when I received a care package of dry & sensitive skin essentials. Thank goodness for this kindness because I had no idea such wonderful products were available. Of the four, one has been a long-time essential and two are wonderful and soothing new additions. And the fourth, not my favorite.
Nourishing Day Cream Reve de Miel
This one is making my dry, tight and irritated face go "Ahhhhh!" Nourishing Day Cream is a rich cream, which feels luxuriously rich but without greasiness. It has a thick but light texture that has a whipped consistency. There's honey in there and has the light honey and beeswax scent. Besides being full of botanical oils, coconut oil is very high up on the ingredient listing. I don't have any coconut sensitivities and rather love it for my skin. It takes a few minutes to sink into my skin, but the rich but light cream glides on and feels wonderfully soothing.
The coconut oil, along with beeswax and shea butter creates a very deeply hydrating cream. It doesn't seem like a complicated formulation and ingredients are for moisturizing and it does this very well. I am deeply happy to use this. I've been alternating my regular day cream, the Mandom Barrier Repair Moist one (another simple hydrating one), with the Nuxe Reve de Miel Nourishing Day Cream. It's much richer and one I need now that my skin is turning so irritated and dry as the weather turns cold.
It also doesn't interfere with my sunscreen and makeup, but preps the skin nicely. This is a big (and affordable) win.

Hand and Nail Cream Reve de Miel
I find that my hands are aging faster than my face. While I see some fine lines on my face, my face seems about the same as it always has been. My hands on the other hand is much drier and definitely showing signs of losing elasticity in the skin. So while I don't expect a hand cream to fix me, I do think just simple hydration does wonders for appearance.
I am a crazy hand washer so I always keep some moisturizer at my work desk and by my bedside table. I really suffer when I don't keep up with applying a hand cream. That's when my hands look more shriveled up than usual.
I feel like I'm reveling in delicious honey-infused hand massage when I rub the Hand and Nail Cream. Like the face cream, it is also high in coconut oil. Also with a high silicone content, it has that very sleek (not slippery or greasy) feel that silicone-heavy products have. It also has a great deal of botanical-derived products: honey, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, sunflower oil, etc. I keep this by my bedside and apply generously. In the morning, my sad looking hands have most of the lizardy looking surface smoothed out. It's not very occlusive (like when I smear on Aquaphor or similar) and not as effective for when I get dry and cracked cuticles and hangnails, but for general hydration, this beautiful honey scented cream is a wonderful treat.

Makeup Remover and Facial Cleansing Gel Reve de Miel
This one is the least favorite of the products. This gel formula is supposed to be massaged onto dampened skin to remove makeup and cleanse skin. It produces a lush foam, but I found it was no match for my sunscreen, foundation and waterproof mascara. It's a perfectly good foaming cleanser, but not something I would use to as a double duty makeup remover and cleanser. It's good as the second part of a double cleanser after removing makeup with an oil or balm cleanser or other makeup removing products.
The scent is less deliciously honeyed as the other products, which is a bummer. I'm not a big fan of foaming cleansers, and with my dehydrated skin doesn't seem to love this particular cleanser either. Used over several consecutive evenings, I found my skin turning dry and very tight.

Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm Reve de Miel
Matte finish with a thick texture that really seals in moisture, this balm is a definite HG-level of amazing. Already discussed several time on the blog, I love using this especially at night to seal in moisture on to the lips. I like that in the morning, the product remains. It makes me feel like it's really doing hard work or something. :D The matte texture also help it be a great primer for the lips for my more drying lipsticks, too.

With the exception of the cleanser, these Reve de Miel products have really impressed me! Soothing and intensely hydrating, I'm going to really enjoy using these products in these cold months.
The US site is currently running a F&F event (here). Have you tried the lip balm yet? How about these other skincare products?
