SUQQU Intense Rich Cream
>>The product featured in this post was provided by brand / PR without charge for my consideration.<<
I am always on the lookout for a cream that will replace my albatross, the AmorePacific Time Response Skin Renewal Cream (here). With a whopping price tag, every purchase packs a punch to the wallet. Now I've tried many creams, but as my skin gets drier over the years, I haven't found a cream that can soothe and moisturize my face, especially for the winter. I also use a lighter and less pricey regimen in the AM (many Mandom Barrier Repair Moist items), but my skin has transitioned to full on DRY that I've been transitioning my richer PM products into my AM & PM routine. That created another level of urgency to find a less expensive cream.
I am so excited that the latest from SUQQU (from over the holidays) landed in my mailbox! Dry-skinned people with crackly dehydrated and dull complexions, have I got a cream to share with you.
Well you're paying 30,000JPY (200GBP / ~210USD), so you're going to get all the bells and whistles in luxurious presentation. A heavy golden box (with a matching sleeve) looks the part, doesn't it.
It's a bright and shiny gold jar and also comes with a spatula. It is a little unfortunate that it comes in an open jar, but the spatula helps keep fingers out of the product.
I've been using this cream since the beginning of November, so I have a good long stretch of time using the Intense Rich Cream. I will follow up with a full ingredient listing for you. It is very high in squalane, olive oil and petrolatum. There's regular good ol' alcohol, but is it very far down on the list. It does have several botanical extracts (like honey suckle, pear, seaweed, shell ginger and yeast) as well as being chock full of other emollient agents. There's also added fragrance via Sanzekan orchids and rosemary and sage essential oils. It has a pleasing, unobtrusive herbal scent.
Since I've started using this cream, I've been a BAD BAD monkey and tooling around with way too many actives and exfoliants. I've been kick starting and amping up my tretinoin routine and then adding other heavy duty things on top of it. My skin has been looking great one day and then flaking off like snakeskin the next. All this has come with flakes and redness (you can see some of this in recent pictures).
This cream has been a dry Belly lifesaver! Normally I get extra diligent with my AmorePacific routine because in a few days, my skin turns mostly back to normal after such blatant abuse. But having started using the SUQQU Intense Rich Cream, this has been the cream to set everything right.
- thick and rich (near oily) texture that spreads easily on the skin
- non-sticky feel
- intense moisturizing that also calms my skin overnight
- minimizes flakes
- great for dry skinned folks needing a really heavy dose of hydration
- works well under makeup particularly (and probably only) for very dry skin
ahhhmahgahhh! I love this cream I love this cream! Updated with ingredients now! I think many of you would also enjoy this cream.
I think most people are waiting for SUQQU SS 2017 color product posts, but I'm still testing and trying them out. It's been very tough to buy on line at Selfridges that it's become kind of ridiculous. I received a few pieces from the permanent range to show you, but I tried to order the LE quad and blush on line, but I'm not even sure when it appeared (if ever!) and disappeared. It seems like the website never has inventory that supports the global demand of customers like us. I hate talking on the phone to order things and much prefer the lack of interpersonal interaction (misanthropic and socially-awkward Belly, and you?). I also want to take advantage of my selfridges+ which I specifically bought to support my SUQQU habit. Dear Selfridges buyers, please support your online channel! We don't want to call a counter. We want you to order tons of inventory (of everything! my eye lash curler has been out of stock for eons! and my shade of foundation! and all the blushes from LAST release!) and make them available to your global customers! Harrods, if you offered a shipping program like Selfridges, we'd be all over you, too!
Well good news is that the cream is available on line (selfridges, in limited quantity) if you wish to try it and at the counters. I would recommend if you can, to try out a sample to see if it would suit your dry skin.
