SUQQU AW 17 - Designing Color Eyes 06 Yoibeni, Pure Color Blush 104 Beniazuki, Moisture Rich Lipstick 101 Ichijiku
Interestingly enough, SUQQU's AW collection kept coming in and out of stock on selfridges.com that I was eventually able to purchase pretty much everything I wanted of the limited edition items. Of course, having unlimited free shipping with my selfridges+ subscription made it all worth while. I'm not sure what it is about this brand; I just can't get enough! As the brand shifted away from many of the older brand tropes, I still find many of these items endlessly fascinating (says my American Express).
I'm hoping to get a few posts out so you can see more of the range (some limited edition and mostly permanent). This post is just simple swatches (no comparisons) and one look.
Designing Color Eyes 06 Yoibeni
This one was provided without charge by the brand. When I saw the promotional stuff on the web, I was originally going to either purchase this one or the similar looking LE one 107 Horeaka. It didn't seem to make sense to have both because the color composition has similar pink-based colors.
SUQQU describes this palette as beets and mauve grey and that is kind of so.
- slightly sheer warm ivory pearl
- shimmery mauve grey (lavender tinged)
- cool satin brown
- bright shimmery pink (the beet!)
Interestingly, even with such a bright pigmented pink, this palette was pretty easy to wear and not all that intimidating. I also found the pink surprisingly flattering on my skin.
I did find the mauve grey a bit floury in texture and with a slight bit of fallout, and it applied on a skin better when patted on with a flat brush versus brushing on.
Pure Color Blush 104 Beniazuki
Idly surfing the Selfridges website, I saw this come back into stock. Instead of the gradient format of the other Pure Color Blushes, the new limited edition ones have stripes of color.
(L to R: Left, Middle, Right and Blended)
It's an interesting combination of shades which oddly blends a cool bright pink, a cool satin pale pink, a shimmery warm coral to get a bright shimmery cool pink. In any case I like it. The stripes of colors are large enough I can actually select one set of colors versus a another or blend them all together.
Moisture Rich Lipstick 101 Ichijiku
Ok, so I was very curious about the other limited edition shade, the blue one. But I was even more curious about this limited edition one that shares the name of an epic Creamy Glow Ichijiku, also from SUQQU. That other one is a deep, rich warm brown red. This Moisture Rich Ichijiku is very different. It's a cooler sheerer burgundy.
(Tanget: those old posts make me LOLCRINGE. The lens distortion makes my face no where near recognizable. LOL CRINGE)
I'll specifically do a separate post on these lipsticks. Because after I tried the press sample of 01 Yuukanade that was sent to me to try, I purchased FIVE MORE SHADES.
In the look below, I'm wearing all the products featured in this post.
The eye shadow palette featured was provided for my consideration. Please check out my disclosure policy here!
It has been a super long time since I've posted. I've been using up lots of products recently. I've even witnessed eye shadow pan, Lately, my thoughts about makeup has turned so that they are becoming more utilitarian and less OOOHPRETTY. Partly, this is due to a new job that has a much longer commute. I really do not have dawdle time for face painting and I'm often walking out of door with something slapdash applied.
