Sulwhasoo ShineClassic Multi Powder Compact
I was recently on the hunt for some new skincare items and was browsing the Sulwhasoo website. Sulwhasoo is a premium Korean brand, mostly known for its skincare. I'm trying out a serum and a cleanser that I purchased, but today I'd like to show you this over the top beauty.
Sulwhasoo brings out limited edition powder compacts from time to time. A few years back, I remember Bergdorf Goodman or Neiman Marcus had a bunch on its website at clearance prices. Why buy things at reasonable markdown prices when you can fill yourself with regret and then hoard-buy years later at full price? Why indeed?
This compact has a highlighter-blush and it is beautiful. The case is inspired by a Korean traditional red silk pouch that royalty would have carried called jinjunang. Jinju is pearl in Korean. Even the faux suede fabric is thick and is adorned by a small faux pearl on a synthetic leather string. Also part of the set is a synthetic bristle travel brush.
It is weighty and exquisitely detailed on the outside.
It's a little heavy for carrying around day to day. Also, I would worry about knocking loose one of those little faux pearls.
As delightfully ornate as it is on the outside, it is beautiful on the inside. There's a bright hot pink blush shade, along with a warm rose. Also are two highlighter shades in pale pink and ivory with shimmer.
This definitely scratches the makeup collector itch I have from time to time. I must make myself use this once in a while so I don't feel regretful spending money on this thing.
